ANKARA, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Turkey raised 2.16 billion lira ($726 million) by issuing two lira-denominated sukuk bonds, the Turkish Treasury said on Wednesday, as it seeks to diversify borrowing instruments and broaden its investor base.

The sukuk bonds will mature on Sept. 26, 2018 and Sept. 22, 2021, the Treasury said in a statement.
