NIORDC Completes Gasoline Unit At Tehran Refinery

The National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) on 31 July inaugurated a 2.8mn liters day (18,000 b/d) gasoline unit at the Tehran refinery. The Iranian oil ministrys Shana website said this is the second facility in Iran to include an isomerization unit, following a similar project at Arak refinery. This unit will upgrade gasoline from 64 octane to 88 octane. Inaugurating the unit, NIORDC Managing Director Alireza Zeighami said that new refineries and units under construction would take Iranian gasoline production capacity to 99.7mn liters/day (630,000 b/d). He noted that NIORDCs gasoline capacity was 43mn liters/day (270,000 b/d) at the end of March 2010 and is intended to reach 70mn liters/day (440,000 b/d) by the end of March 2013.
