Partial Restart At Dana Gas LPG Plant After Blaze
Sharjah-based Dana Gas has announced a partial restart of operations at its Khor Mor LPG plant in Kurdish northern Iraq after a fire that broke out a day earlier. Partial production restarted yesterday from the early production facility producing and supplying gas to the power stations, Dana Gas said on 24 June, without specifying how long repairs would take and when it expected operations to return to normal.
On 22 June two road tankers belonging to a local LPG trader caused a fire while filling at the plants loading station, said Dana Gas. Theexplosion resulted in four injuries and one fatality of a tanker driver thereby causing extensive damage to the loading facility, Dana Gas said. The company has been active in northern Iraq since April 2007 when it penned a framework agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to boost the strategic development and utilization of gas in the region (MEES, 23 April 2007). Production of gas and condensate at the Khor Mor field began in October 2008 (MEES, 20 October 2008). © Copyright MEES 2012.
