Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant To Begin Ramp-Up To Full Capacity

Vladimir Pavlov, Vice-President of Russia’s Atomstroyexport, which is overseeing the commissioning of the 1.0gw nuclear power plant at Bushehr, told Interfax on 3 May that “the output of the steam generating facility of the nuclear power plant has been successfully increased to 90% of nominal capacity.” He added that the final stage in the increase of the plant’s power output from 75% to 100% of capacity will begin on 23 May. This will coincide with a scheduled meeting between Tehran and international governments to discuss UN Security Council concerns over Iran’s nuclear program.
