Saudi LPG Prices Boosted For November
Saudi Aramco and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) have announced to customers that propane contract prices for November deliveries would be increased by $85/ton to $660/ton, while butane contract prices would be increased by $65/ton to $660/ton. Walt Hart, Senior Consultant at Houston-based Purvin & Gertz, told MEES that the propane contract price is again stronger than market expectations. “Propane’s strength reflects an expectation of improved demand in November – partly from hopes for cooler weather in northeast Asia, but perhaps from greater Saudi petrochemical demand as well,” Mr Hart said. “Butane’s premium to propane has been narrowing since June, and the current price parity reflects that naphtha has been the preferred petrochemical feedstock this fall,” he added.
