Syria Fin Min: Govt Has No Plans To Impose New Taxes - Report

BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--The Syrian government doesn't intend to impose new taxes, the official Syrian Arab News Agency, or SANA, reports Wednesday, citing the country's Finance Minister Mohammad Al Hussein.

The contribution of taxes and fees to last year's budget was 61%, Al Hussein said during a parliamentary discussion of the state's 2010 draft budget, SANA reports.
