EIU expects Tunisia’s real GDP at 2% in 2010 and then stagnate in 2011 as the effects of the fiscal stimulus fades. Despite planned annual rises in public-sector pay and the minimum wage, consumer price inflation will ease in 2010-11, to an average of 3.1%, as a result of a good harvest in 2009 and continued government food and fuel subsidies, which will contain imported inflation.
