Lebanon: Country outlook
Economist Intelligence Unit - 17 Jun 2009

EIU expects Lebanon’s real GDP to
fall to 2.4% in 2009, owing to a slowdown in regional demand for Lebanese goods and services, as well as political uncertainty around the election. In 2010 growth should increase to 3.3%, as a modest pick-up in regional growth boosts investment and tourist arrivals. However, there is a risk that a sudden political crisis could derail the economy, as occurred in three of the past five years.
