Economist Intelligence Unit - Jun 2009

EIU expects Egypt's real GDP to fall slightly in the second half of 2009 (the first half of 2009/10), before starting to pick up again in the first half of 2010. Inflation is forecast to average 9.7% in 2009 and 7% in 2010. The government's policy of reducing energy subsidies could also lead to increased fuel prices, bringing about a renewed cycle of price increases.

Watheeqa initiates coverage on EIPICO with a FAIRLY UNDERVALUED investment opinion and a target price ranging from EGP 33 (base case) and EGP 36 (best case) representing a 26.5% upside potential (using the base case intrinsic value) to the current market price of EGP 26.1 (as of June 29, 2009). The company is expected to record FY09 net profit of EGP 272 million, compared to EGP 257 million for FY08. The stock is trading at a PE of 6.9x for FY09E.
