Bahrain: Country outlook
Economist Intelligence Unit - Oct 2009

EIU expects Bahrain’s real GDP at 3.7% in 2010 and 4.3% in 2011. Risks stem from prices for Bahrain's main exports, oil and aluminum. There is also a risk that international lines of credit to Bahraini banks and corporate could be constrained following the recent default of two Saudi-owned banks based in Bahrain. : With economic growth expected to be lower than during the recent oil boom, consumer price inflation is forecast to remain contained at an annual average of some 3.5% in 2010 and 4% in 2011, compared with an estimated 3% in 2009.
