Bahrain: Country outlook
Economist Intelligence Unit - Jun 2009

EIU expects Bahrain’s real GDP to
slow sharply in 2009, to 3.1%, and to remain subdued, at 3.3%, in 2010, as regional growth moderates and government finances are squeezed. In comparison new GDP data put growth at 6.3% in 2008. Bahrain's banking sector, the single largest contributor to GDP, faces risks associated with the regional slowdown and the problems in the Dubai property market.
