  Business Overview
Emirates Airline provides scheduled air transportation services to passengers along with cargo transportation through its division Emirates SkyCargo.

Europe and Americas are the airlines’ largest source of revenues with 36.5% of AED43.69 billion (USD11.89 billion) revenues in 2008. They were followed by the Far East and Australia with 28.1%, the Middle East with 13.3% of total revenues, Africa with 11.3% and West Asia and Indian Ocean with 10.8%.

Emirates Airline ranked as the largest Middle East carrier and the 7th largest in the world in 2008 based on international passenger’s traffic. The Airline set its highest record of traffic transporting 22.73 million passengers to 99 destinations worldwide, while seat factor decreased by four points to 75.8% given its 13.43% increase in Available Seat Kilometers (ASK) outpaced its 7.86% increase in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK). The airline significantly increased its capacity when AirbusAirbusLoading... delivered four A380s 'superjumbo" and BoeingBoeingLoading... delivered 10 BoeingBoeingLoading... 777-300ERs and six BoeingBoeingLoading... 777-200LRs in 2008.

Emirates has a fleet of 134 aircrafts, with an average age of 64 months compared with an industry average of 183 months; the airline has 153 airplanes on firm order and 70 on option, as of May of 2009.

Emirates expects to receive seven additional A380s as well as 10 BoeingBoeingLoading... 777-300ER, one 777-200LR and one BoeingBoeingLoading... 777 freighter in the 2009-2010 fiscal year (ending 31st March 2010).
