Saudi Oger was established in 1978 in Saudi Arabia as a construction company by the late Rafik Al Hariri, the former Prime Minister of Lebanon. It remains privately owned, and directed, by the Hariri family.
Saudi Oger completed construction projects throughout the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the United States. These projects include the Royal Diwan (Jeddah), King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center (Riyadh), Prince Abdullah Military City (Al-Ihsa), King Faysal Hospital (Riyadh), and Holy Quran printing facilities (Medina).
Saudi Oger has diversified into telecommunications, real estate development, utilities, information technology, operations and maintenance, and printing. It plans to increase its market share into other sectors, mainly in the telecommunication and utilities sectors through strategic alliances with national and international companies.
Saudi Oger's real estate development activities include its exclusive relationship with Saraya Holdings (also owned by the Hariri family) for the construction and development of Saraya Aqaba, Saraya Dead Sea, and Saraya Islands in Ras Al Khaimah. It is also the major contractor and developer of the new Downtown Amman project.
