  Business Overview
The Jordan-based Housing Bank for Trade and Finance (HBTF) is a commercial bank that offers corporate and retail banking services including mortgage loans, treasury banking and credit operations. HBTF also provides investment advisory services, asset and portfolio management and brokerage services, with access to 10 regional stock exchanges as well as exchanges in the US, Asian and European markets.

HBTF operates 96 branches and 160 ATM's in Jordan, as well as 10 branches in Palestine and one in Bahrain, as of 2008. The bank expanded its geographical operations to Algeria, and Syria through The Housing Bank for Trade and Finance-AlgeriaThe Housing Bank for Trade and Finance-AlgeriaLoading... and the International Bank for Trade and FinanceInternational Bank for Trade and FinanceLoading..., subsidiaries that offer commercial banking services.

HBTF's portfolio of services includes real estate investment, which it offers through the Jordan Real Estate Investments Company; financial brokerage, which it offers through its Jordan-based International Financial Center Company and its Jordan and Palestine Financial Investment Company, based in Palestine. The bank also operates the Specialized Lease Finance Company, in Jordan.

Publicly listed on the Amman Stock ExchangeAmman Stock ExchangeLoading..., HBTF increased its paid-up capital by 150% through a private placement, in 2006, to JOD250 million (USD355.1 million), from JOD100 million (USD142.1 million) in 2005.
