The Kuwait-based Mushrif Trading and Contracting Company is a civil, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and marine contractor and producer of asphalt and concrete. Through its subsidiaries, MTCC also specializes in civil contracting, trades in building materials and provides public transportation services.

The company’s core activities are civil, heavy, infrastructure and marine contractors for residential and commercial buildings, infrastructure projects that include roads, bridges and airports as well as oil and gas, water and wastewater, pipelines and pumping stations and other industrial projects. It produced 40,000 tons of asphalt per month, as of 2008, through its three factories.

MTCC carries out its activities through three major geographical sectors Kuwait, GCC and Iran where it generated a total of KWD83.4 million (USD307.7 million) of operating revenues in 2007. The company earned 55.9% of its Kuwait revenues, amounting to KWD46.6 million (USD171.9 million), from its subsidiaries, Foundmar, OilTech Trading and Contracting, and CRT General Trading. Foundmar is involved in marine and dredging works, while the other two subsidiaries both provide general contracting and trading services in Kuwait.

In the GCC, the company earned 42.7% of operating revenues, amounting to KWD35.7 million (USD131.6 million), through its Qatar branch as well as its UAE-based subsidiaries, the Mushrif National Construction Company, Cercon Civil Contracting and Al Hamed Transport. The remaining 1.3% of revenues amounted to KWD1.2 million (USD4.3 million) and accounted for MTCC’s operations in Iran, through its subsidiary, Loleh Polymer Concrete Pipe, a pipeline manufacturer.
