BCPBCPLoading... was wholly owned by the government of Morocco until 2002, when Banques Populaire Regionale acquired 21% of its shares. The bank was then publicly listed on the Casablanca Stock ExchangeCasablanca Stock ExchangeLoading... in 2004.

The Groupe Banques Populaires is made up of the Crédit Populaire du Maroc, its specialised subsidiaries, and its Foundations while The Crédit Populaire du Maroc is made up of the Banque Centrale PopulaireBanque Centrale PopulaireLoading... and 13 Banques Populaires Régionales.

The BCPBCPLoading... has a central role in the Group’s activities; it's a credit establishment authorised to carry out all manner of banking operations, without, however, having a network of its own and it is a central entity for the Banque Populaires Regionales, acting in particular as the Group’s central compensator, managing surplus BPR funds and ensuring their refinancing,
