  Business Overview
Morocco-based Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) offers commercial and investment
banking services. It is the third largest bank in Morocco according to total
assets, which amounted to MAD79.43 billion (USD9.4 billion) by the end of 2006.

BCP was wholly owned by the government of Morocco until 2002, when Banques
Populaire Regionale acquired 21% of its shares. The bank was then publicly
listed on the Casablanca Stock ExchangeCasablanca Stock ExchangeLoading... 2004.

BCP?s investments include the acquisition 54% of Banque Populaire
Maroco-Guinéene in 1990 and 23% in IFC Al Wassit in 1995, the intermediate
company in Casablanca Stock ExchangeCasablanca Stock ExchangeLoading.... Moreover, BCP acquired 30% of Chaabi
Leasing as a specialized company in credit and finance operations and in 2002
BCP has wholly acquired Société Marocaine de Dépôt et CréditSociété Marocaine de Dépôt et CréditLoading....

Operating mainly in Morocco, BCP expanded its branch network to Europe, North
