  Business Overview
The Kuwait Telecommunications Company was established in June 2008 to operate and manage the third GSM mobile network in Kuwait. Branded as Viva, the company launched its services in December 2008.

A consortium led by Saudi TelecomSaudi TelecomLoading... (STC) won the bid for the KTC license for KWD248.7 million (USD901 million), in November 2007.

The Shariah-compliant KTC underwent an IPO in August 2008, on the Kuwait Stock ExchangeKuwait Stock ExchangeLoading..., offering 50% of its shares for public subscription, to raise KWD26.4 million (USD98.7 million).

Viva had captured 10% of Kuwait’s market share by May 2009. The company’s goal is to reach a 20% market share by the end of 2010.
