  Business Overview
Through its subsidiaries in the GCC, the Levant and Pakistan, Arabtec Holding provides civil contracting for commercial and residential buildings and infrastructure; electrical, mechanical and plumbing contracting; onshore and offshore contracting for the oil and gas industry; manufacturing of ready-mix concrete and precast panels; structural steel fabrication facilities and trade and leasing of construction equipment.

The UAE-based group’s flagship activity is civil contracting for commercial, residential and mixed-use buildings, which it provides through the UAE-based Arabtec Construction,Arabtec Construction,Loading... the Qatar-based Arabtec Construction - Qatar and Arabtec Pakistan, among several others. The group’s 2008 contracting revenues represented 94% of its yearly total of AED9.7 billion (USD2.6 billion).

Arabtec Holding generated 99.3% of its 2008 total revenues from its activities in the GCC, specifically, the UAE and Qatar; while the total revenues grew by 127% .In terms of net profits, the group grew by 78% from AED535 million (USD145.7 million) in 2007 to AED958 million (USD260.8million) in 2008.

Arabtec diversified its contracting activities in 2007, when it acquired stakes in three UAE subsidiaries: Emirates Falcon Electromechanical Company provides electrical, mechanical and plumbing contracting; the Target Engineering Construction CompanyTarget Engineering Construction CompanyLoading... provides onshore, offshore, and electromechanical and instrumentation contracting, and Gulf Steel Industries fabricates structural steel. The group established its first subsidiary in Saudi Arabia through Arabtec Construction,Arabtec Construction,Loading... in 2008.

Known as the Arab Technical Construction Company, until July 2004, Arabtec Holding underwent an IPO on the Dubai Financial MarketDubai Financial MarketLoading..., in August 2004, which raised AED220.4 million (USD60 million) to fund growth.

The company plans to expand into new markets like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya and Oman, with projects and possible acquisitions.
