  Business Overview
Dubai Sports City (DSC) is a mixed-use, community development located in DubailandDubailandLoading... and devoted to sports and will include residential and commercial complexes.

The 4.7 million sq. m (50.5 million sq. ft.) development will include football, rugby, track and field venues, a 10,000-seat multi-purpose indoor arena, an ice rink, a 30,000-capacity cricket stadium, a 5,000-seat field hockey stadium and an 18-hole golf course. DSC will also include a health and country club, international schools offering sports curricula, a medical/sports medicine facility and rehabilitation center, cultural activities, retail centers, hotels and other lifestyle amenities. DSC’s first phase, which includes the golf course, sports academies and other facilities will be completed in 2008. DSC is estimate to cost approximately AED14.7 billion (USD4 billion), when it is completed in 2010.

The tallest of DSC’s 120 residential and commercial towers is The Gateway, a two-towered business development, with a total built-up area of 112,000 sq. m (1.2 million sq. ft.) and 44 floors per tower. The Gateway includes a luxury restaurant, health club and business center.

DSC’s total retail area will span 353,000 sq. m (3.8 million sq. ft.) and will include, Arena Mall, North Point and South Point commercial hubs and others. DSC’s largest retail facility, the Arena Mall, will have an area of 175,000 sq. m (1.9 million sq. ft.). When completed in 2010, it will have an 800,000-person capacity and provide 230 shopping outlets, a hypermarket, a family entertainment center and an events calendar.

DSC will be home to the first purpose-built Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) football academy. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has relocated its headquarters permanently from London to DSC, where it will host the first ICC Global Cricket Academy. DSC also includes the David Lloyd Tennis Academy and the first Butch Harmon School of Golf outside of the US. The academies area will house a 3,000 sq. m (32,291 sq. ft.) gymnasium and an Olympic-length swimming pool.
