Business Overview
Repsol YPF is an integrated international oil and gas company, operating in more than 25 countries with special emphasis on Spain and Latin America. The company has also been quite active in North Africa, where it holds exploration rights and engages in marketing and distribution. Elsewhere in the Middle East, Repsol YPF has mining rights in one exploitation block offshore Dubai.
In January 2004, Repsol YPF joined hands with Italian energy group Eni on a deal with Saudi Arabian Oil Company to explore for gas in the Empty Quarter. Repsol YPH holds a 30% stake in the joint venture, which was granted a concession in a 52,000-square-kilometer area.
