Business Overview
CNBC Arabiya is a satellite TV channel broadcasting live regional and international financial and business information in Arabic.
An affiliate of US-based NBC Universal, CNBC Arabiya was established in Dubai and began broadcasting in 2003. It has seven Bureaus around the Middle East and correspondents reporting from London. CNBC Arabiya broadcasts via ArabSat and NileSat and reaches over 50 million households, as of 2008. The company re-launched its programming schedule, in November 2008, to include 12 new programs that provide in-depth coverage and analysis of news and topics such as the environment, women's issues and private equity, among others. CNBC Arabiya launched an updated website, in June 2009, to act as financial portal, featuring breaking news coverage, in-depth analysis and a live stock market ticker feed, covering the Middle East.
