The Qatar Fuel Company (Woqod) supplies refined petroleum products throughout Qatar. It operates nine service stations as of June 2008, which include gasoline and diesel brands. Woqod services include jet fuel distribution, ship-to-ship bunkering, bitumen import storage and distribution, as well as lubricant distribution.

Woqod’s commercial fuel products include Premium Gasoline 90 Octane, Super Gasoline 97 Octane and Diesel. The company introduced a new motor oil, Ghaf, in 2008 and plans to create engine oils, Ghaf Euro, for European vehicles in the Middle Eastern market and Qorm, diesel engine oil. Woqod became the authorized agent in Qatar for Castrol Lubricants.

Qatar PetroleumQatar Petroleum owns 40% of Woqod, a downstream company, which has the only concession to market, supply and store all petroleum products in Qatar.

Through its subsidiary, Qatar Jet FuelQatar Jet Fuel, Woqod provides fuel to service stations, major infrastructure projects such as the new Doha International AirportDoha International Airport, as well as wholesalers and contractors.

The company plans to expand its bunkering activities to serve the maritime industry. It has built a bunker storage facility in the Ras Laffan Industrial Park, with an annual capacity of 4 million metric tons of bunker fuel.

Woqod, which is listed on the Doha Stock ExchangeDoha Stock Exchange, increased its 2007 net profits by 43.10% to QAR 616 million (USD169 million).
