ISX, the only organized securities market in Iraq, is an independent private sector institution. By the beginning of 2006, it had 85 listed companies with USD 20 billion market capitalization.

ISX relocated to a new operations center in Baghdad in November 2005 and is planning, with the help of the grant provided by Izdihar project, to expand its services beyond Baghdad city and attract companies from across the nation.

Moreover, another grant offered by Izdihar project is intended to assist the Iraq Central Securities Depository (ICSD) transform from a department to an independent organization in order to have a more transparent supervision of ISX.
