Intel is a world leader in semiconductor technology, with sales of $26.5 billion and operations in 45 countries, including in Dubai, where the Middle East regional office is located. Revenues from the Middle East and North Africa have been growing steadily by 30% over the past few years, making the region one of the largest growth areas for the company. The Dubai office looks after a network of 1,500 dealers and assemblers.
Elsewhere in the Middle East, Intel has been investing heavily in Israel, where the first facility outside the US for the manufacture of microprocessors and memory chips was built in 1985. The Israeli operation employs 4,000 individuals and generates $1.4 billion in exports.
