Business Overview
The Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (TAKREER) refines crude oil and produces gasoline, kerosene, gas oil, naphtha, fuel oil, liquefied petroleum gas, as well as liquid and granulated sulfur.
The state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil CompanyAbu Dhabi National Oil Company  (ADNOCADNOC) established TAKREER to manage and operate its refining operations, which include the Abu Dhabi and Ruwais refineries, with a combined capacity of 490,000 barrels of refined products per day. Takreer began expanding its Ruwais refinery, valued at AED36.7 billion (USD10 billion), in 2010. When completed in 2013, the plant’s capacity would have increased by 400,000 barrels per day. The company began developing the Inter-Refinery Pipeline (IRP), valued at AED3.6 billion (USD970 million), in 2010. When completed in 2012, the pipeline would transport refined and end products from its refineries directly to the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
