Circle Oil Announces New Gas Discovery In The Sebou Permit
Circle Oil has announced a new onshore gas discovery at its Sebou permit in northern Morocco. The CGD-10 exploration well, the fifth in Circle’s current drilling program in the Rharb Basin, test flowed gas at a sustained rate of 3.6mn cfd from the primary target, in the Lower Guebbas Sequence, using a 24/64 inch choke. Testing of the secondary target is due to be carried out later. The gas discovery is the fourth that Circle has made in the Rharb Basin since November (MEES , 23 February). The rig is now being moved to the site of the final well in the drilling program. The AIM-listed company has a 75% interest in the Sebou permit, in partnership with the Moroccan state oil company ONHYM, and a 60% stake in the Oulad N’Zala permit, where it brought the ONZ4 gas discovery on-stream in September at a rate of 1.5mn cfd.
