Enviroserve and Khadamat Facilities Management sign an E-waste Recycling Partnership Agreement

A recycling partnership contract to launch Khadamat's Green Phone Program was signed with EnviroserveEnviroserve
- a federally accredited and dedicated company in the Middle East offering electronic scrap management services, refrigerant gas recovery and reclaim, and environmental audits.

The Green Phone campaign aims to facilitate recovery and recycling of used mobile phones and accessories and ensure toxic components are processed in specialized refineries overseas in order to extract and re-use the raw materials. The campaign also includes the collection and recycling of obsolete electronic items from across the campus.
The partnership contract was signed by Tahsin Haimour, General Manager of Khadamat Facilities Management and Zornitza Hadjitodorova on behalf of Stuart Fleming, CEO of EnviroserveEnviroserve
at Khadamat Office, Al Ain, UAE. Mobile phones contain highly toxic substances that if disposed of incorrectly go directly to landfill resulting in contamination of soil, water and air "We have to stop this and take active steps to ensure mobile phones don't end up in domestic landfill," added Leyla Porteous, Support Services Manager of Khadamat.
