JEDDAH - Reichle & De-Massari (R&M, www.rdm.com), the Swiss structured cabling specialist raised its reputation as an innovation leader with the introduction of its three-layer security system and Cat. 6 shielded solutions for the Saudi finance sector, the company said in a statement on Monday. The introduction meets the heightened security and zero downtime network requirements for Saudi banks and financial firms, and is the latest in a series of customizable solutions from R&M.

Increasingly complex banking operations demand the highest performing network infrastructure and heightened security measures. R&M noted that a fail proof and secure network infrastructure is also essential to safeguard against connection failures that lead to data loss and potentially more significant damage. Banking operations are quite sensitive to any connection failures and as a result require the highest levels of physical security at the network level.

Jean Pierre Labry, managing director, R&M Middle East and Africa, said: "We consistently advise Saudi financial leaders not to compromise on its network infrastructure and install a fail proof network of the highest cabling specifications. By deploying a faultless high quality network, capable of scaling to meet future network demands, banks are able to optimize network performance and ultimately banking operations."

To meet growing network security requirements, R&M offers an active 3 level security system of color coding, plug-in protection, and plug-out protection, to prevent network failure and is essential for the high security demands of the financial sector.

This is in contrast to competitors who provide only passive security which provides notification of network failure only after it has taken place. The Swiss cabling specialist has also developed the innovative Cat. 6A STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) solution to provide a robust secure infrastructure for any financial environment. With the Cat. 6A shielded solution, the copper module is 360° shielded against electromagnetic and radiofrequency interference and ensures readiness for 10 Gigabit transmission speeds.

R&M's shielded cabling solutions are also future proof in its design while its color coding system and patented Plug Guard offer the highest levels of physical security and protects terminations effectively against accidental loss of contact or data.

R&M has been involved in a number of network infrastructure projects for the banking sector, having implemented end-to-end network solutions for Credit Suisse and BNP Paribas' branches worldwide, HSBC branches in the UAE as well as several industry networking projects in Saudi Arabia.
