Kuwait: Medical Errors Law next month

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The Ministry of HealthMinistry of Health
, Kuwait Medical Association and Union of Insurance Companies will soon finalize discussions on the cost of insurance policies for doctors, in accordance with the Medical Errors Law, which is expected to be implemented next month, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting sources.Sources explained the concerned authorities have initially agreed on the annual insurance fees ranging from KD 120 to KD 200 for the doctors, while the ministry will bear 25 to 33 percent of the insurance fee. Sources said the authorities also discussed stipulations of the law on the protection of doctors from medical errors, in addition to the insurance fees, type of insurance - comprehensive or partial, and the medical terminology in this regard.
Meanwhile, sources revealed the Dental 32 Center has granted 20 percent discount to members of Kuwait Journalists Association (KJA). Sources added the center provides different dental services to the KJA members and their families.
