- Text size
RIYADH: Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), has expressed optimism regarding the implementation recently of eight projects to develop tourist sites in Tabuk.
"The eight projects aim to support other ventures implemented by municipalities, investors and businessmen in the province," said Prince Sultan bin Salman in a statement issued by the SCTA on Wednesday. With the eight projects, it is hoped that tourism will further pick up in Tabuk where activities to attract visitors had been launched.
This was held in sync with the commemoration of the annual celebration of Prince Fahad bin Sultan Award for Exemplary Farming in the region.
"The implementation of the eight projects also aimed to benefit from the natural tourism potential and find appropriate tourist sites to achieve the aspirations of different social groups," said Prince Sultan.
Nasir bin Ahmed Al-Kheraisi, tourism executive director in Tabuk, earlier said the implemented projects included the Hagle panoramic Corniche walkways in Um Ghanam Beach, as well as the restoration works in a number of tourist sites and facilities.
He also said that the projects will have a significant impact in promoting tourism in Tabuk, which is endowed with rich tourist potential and is capable of attracting visitors to its white sand beaches and heritage sites throughout the year.
