Commerce Minister Approves 'Motabaqah' Testing Contract

Riyadh -- Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Ahmad Zainal issued an order to seek assistance from Saudi Specialized Laboratories Co 'Motabaqah' for the inspection of new and used vehicles that have certificate of conformance in country of origin to ensure their safety.
Previously, the Ministry of Commerce contacted private laboratories to examine commodities entering the Kingdom with the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and in coordination of the Ministry and the Saudi Customs.
Saudi Specialized Laboratories 'Motabaqah' is contracted to examine cosmetics and detergents, and to detect genetically modified products in food and agricultural products, and measurement and calibration and verification, inspection and testing of electrical appliances in addition to inspection of used and new vehicles.
