Emirates to add A340-500 aircraft on Tripoli route

DUBAI -- EmiratesEmirates
reaffirmed its commitment to Libya on Wednesday, announcing that it will introduce its Airbus A340-500 on the Tripoli route. From August 1, 2010, EmiratesEmirates
will offer a total of 3,612 seats per week between Tripoli and Dubai representing an increase of nine per cent in passenger capacity. "Demand for our services to Libya has been steadily building so the addition of the A340-500 will not only increase capacity but will also enhance the customer experience when travelling on this route," said Haitham Al Battawy, manager, Emirates Libya.
"The aircraft addition will also offer travellers from North African markets seamless connections to the Far East, the GCC, the Indian subcontinent and Australian destinations via Emirates Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, designed for optimum travelling comfort," he added.

' A340-500 aircraft offers 12 first class suites, 42 business class and 204 economy class seats, alongside 15 tonnes of cargo-carrying capacity. "Our economy class passengers can expect the same high level of comfort and service as first and business class passengers," said Al Battawy.
