Sanofi-Aventis Engages Future Pharmacists in Egypt

Cairo, 12th July, 2010 - Sanofi-AventisSanofi-Aventis
is empowering future pharmacists by providing field-based training to over 400 pharmacy students from all over Egypt. Through a project known as "Future Access", which is in its second year running and kicks off today at the Ibrotel Hotel in Heliopolis for Cairo students, and will launch the following day for students of Alexandria, Mansoura, Tanta, Zagazig, Assuit and Menya. will provide these students with opportunities to add to their business skills, by learning hands on within a business environment.
Working on three different projects under the "Future Access" umbrella, students from all governorates will benefit from this initiative.

Egypt is contributing to the education of pharmacy students through this very important project which offers them a commercial platform from which they may explore the competitive pharmaceutical marketplace.
"It will not only prepare them for the real world, but also give them a beneficial set of skills in many areas within the industry itself, and even improve their social skills," said Prof. Samar Mansour, Assistant Professor Pharmaceutics Ain Shams University.
"Future access "is the bridge between the academic parts we learned and the real-life skills needed to shape our future and it will help us to make the right choices when we graduate in two years," said Basem Kamal, Head of Student Union Faculty of Pharmacy - Ain Shams University.
"When developing the project we placed pharmacy students as our future colleagues and next-day customers, which necessitated a high level of preparation with regards to training materials and well-trained staff to achieve a high-quality training program," said Walaa Salah, Training Manager, Business Support, Sanofi-AventisSanofi-Aventis
."Future Access" launched today and will last for eight weeks, with a graduation ceremony set to take place in October later this year. The main objectives are to develop the skills and knowledge of future pharmacists in order to be able to compete in the employment marketplace after graduation.
As well as providing the graduates of this project with essential certification, Sanofi-AventisSanofi-Aventis
' team will also keep an eye on outstanding performers within the project who may be given the opportunity to join the Sanofi-AventisSanofi-Aventis
team in the future.
