POWER-GEN Middle East launches preliminary conference programme

POWER-GEN Middle East 2010, the region's premier conference and exhibition for the power and water industries, has announced the preliminary conference programme for the forthcoming event in Doha

Held under the patronage of His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al- Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy & Industry, POWER-GEN Middle East aims to discuss and tackle the strategic and technical issues facing the region to the theme of "New Solutions for the Region's Power & Water Challenges".

An excellent line up of speakers and industry professionals will deliver presentations on a range of topics and subjects covering the power and water industries, including spotlights on countries such as Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Egypt.

The Strategic Power Track discusses pivotal issues including market Finance & Investment, Critical Project Issues, Power Trading & Exchange, Renewable Energy - the Emerging Market and Regional Nuclear Power Development. Presentations include contributions from:

•        Hidayathulla Baig, Senior Executive Director, Head of Islamic Finance & Advisory, First Energy Bank, Bahrain

•        Robert Graham, Associate, Pinsent Masons, UAE

•        Dr. Hisham Khatib, World Energy Council, Jordan

The Technical Power Track looks at industry developments including Steam Cycle Technology, Fuel Flexibility, Gas Turbine Augmentation and Power Grids - Current & Future. Contributors to the conference programme include:

The Water Track tackles the strategic and technical issues surrounding the water industry and its close relationship to the power sector, including Desalination Technologies, Drivers & Regulators, Emerging Technologies and Water Re-use. The conference will see a range of industry professionals including:

From 4th-6th October 2010, POWER-GEN Middle East will receive over 3000 industry professionals, who will gather for 3 days to enjoy the industry's leading conference and experience the latest developments and ideas for the future of the Middle East power and water sectors.

POWER-GEN Middle East is a key forum for senior executives and industry leaders to meet and discuss a range of topics, from the region's energy markets, latest technologies and issues relating to power generation, transmission & distribution and water, in order to meet the challenge of the rapid growth in demand for power and water.
