Riyadh - The sales of computer hardware in Saudi Arabia is likely to exceed SR7.5 billion in 2010, according to an official at Riyadh Exhibition Company.
The company will organize the GITEX KSA 2010 at Riyadh International Exhibition Center, off King Abdullah Street from April 25-29.
More than 550,000 computer units are expected to be sold, as stock of installed computers reaches four million, said Shahid Bhatti, Project Manager of GITEX KSA 2010, a premier business-to-business networking event and leading consumer ICT exhibition.
GITEX KSA, an annual event in Saudi Arabia, will showcase a wide range of products and services, said Bhatti.
With Saudi Arabia being the biggest IT market in the Gulf region valued at SR13.8 billion in 2010, ICT expenditure has always been strong in the Kingdom, he said.
The GITEX KSA 2010, which will concurrently run with Saudi Communications 2010 will cater to the full spectrum of Saudi Arabia's diverse IT segments.
At least 15,000 square metres of exhibition space has been allotted this year and it is nearly sold out, Bhatti said.
The huge demand for exhibition space underlines the enthusiasm of ICT companies in the Saudi market this year.
The huge spending on IT products is instrumental for market growth and offers an easy accessibility to top-quality IT products and services in the Kingdom, he added.
The use of computer has reached 24 percent and expected to exceed 30 percent at an estimated value of SR19.5 billion by 2014.
The exhibition will showcase a wide range of products and services that cater to the diverse IT segments in the country. The event will run concurrently with Saudi Communications 2010.
Fueled by growing adoption of technology solutions by corporate houses and households the sales of computer hardware in Saudi Arabia is likely to reach SR7.5 billion in 2010, said Bhatti.
