- Text size
DUBAI -- India's Jet Airways, in a move to lure more passengers from the Gulf sector, has launched a new flight schedule that offers "convenient" daily night departures from Dubai and Sharjah to south Indian destinations including Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.
"The change in operations from day to night departures is based on popular demand and guest preferences. The new timings will enable the airline's guests to optimise their travel schedule," the airline, one of the fastest growing legacy carriers in the world, said in a statement.
"The Middle East is among the fastest growing regions for Jet Airways. Presently, Jet Airways operates 18 flights a day between India and the GCC countries," said Abdulrahman Albusaidy, GEO, Gulf and Middle East and Africa.
He said the airline, which launched Gulf operations in 2008, is looking forward to further increasing frequencies and providing convenient domestic and international connections to customers.
Shakir Kantawala, General Manager, Dubai and Northern Emirates, said the recently implemented change to convenient night departures would enable travellers to plan and book their seats in advance at competitive fares before the summer holidays.
"Jet Airways will provide connections within India and beyond on our unparalleled domestic network in India and ever expanding international footprint," said Kantawala.
He said Jet Airways guests could take a stopover in India and then travel to various destinations in the Far East, Europe, USA and Canada, for an extended holiday. "Our Jet Privilege frequent flyer members will not only earn JPMiles when they fly with Jet Airways, but also earn miles when they avail the services of our carefully chosen partners."
