New mall to be built in Makkah soon
- Text size
JEDDAH: A new mall will be built in Makkah following a SR3-million deal signed on Thursday by Khalid Al-Harbi, CEO of Aqari Investment Holding, and Khalid Gharbi, CEO of Inshaa Al-Jazeera. Aqari, a real estate management company, will market the mall which is scheduled to open by the end of 2011.
The yet-to-be-named mall is located in the Al-Rusaifah district. According to Al-Harbi, it is on a prime site -- one of the best and most easily accessible in Makkah. It is not even a couple of kilometers from the Grand Mosque, very near to the planned King Abdul Aziz Road project and also to the station which will be built for the Haramain Railway.
The mall will have four floors., the first two of which will be for shops. Al-Harbi said efforts would be made to bring in as many international stores as possible. The third floor would be a food court featuring such well-known names as Al-Baik, Al-Tazaj and McDonald's.
The fourth level will be exclusively for children with rides and games. The floor will also have a skiing facility, something which no mall in Makkah offers, Al-Harbi said. Al-Harbi and Khalid Gharbi also signed another agreement on Thursday -- this one for organizing six trade exhibitions, four in Jeddah and two in Riyadh this year.
