Navitaire New Skies means greater service efficiency and added value for Guests
Freedom Town, Kuwait, 21 January 2009 - Jazeera AirwaysJazeera Airways
, the regional Middle East carrier (KSE: JazeeraJazeera
, Bloomberg: JazeeraJazeera
KK, Reuters: JAZK.KW) announced today that it has successfully switched to a next generation reservation system, in a move that allows the airline to better serve its Guests and travel industry partners, by offering greater service efficiency and added value through promotions. The airline's upgrade from Navitaire Open Skies to the Navitaire New Skies product allows JazeeraJazeera
to offer hotel bookings, insurance and car hire to Guests during the flight booking process, and gives Guests even more options when paying for flights and services including through KNET, Visa and Mastercard, with more bank debit card payment options set to be added in the future.
Stefan Pichler, CEO Jazeera AirwaysJazeera Airways
said of the benefits to Guests: "The new inventory system really is a major step forward for us and our Guests. Not only can we offer even greater value services and specials, but we can provide a much more efficient online booking service: in case of any flight changes, the New Skies allows us to simply contact our Guests via email and SMS in time. Moreover, it allows us to better integrate reservations with the airport check-in, all of which will upgrade the overall JazeeraJazeera
customer experience."
The new system also provides significant benefits to travel agents including the option to sell JazeeraJazeera
's flights and services via the Global Distribution System (GDS) for the first time, by providing access to the airline's published fares and inventory, which builds on the airline's existing agreement with TravelPort. In addition, travel agencies will have the ability to connect to JazeeraJazeera
via the new system's application programming interface (API). "Thanks to the co-operation between Navitaire and the JazeeraJazeera
project team, we were able to bring the system online within the timeframe and within budget. This was a great achievement for the Jazeera Commercial Systems team, and we are excited about using the new system to drive even greater value back to all of our customers, while providing a highly efficient JazeeraJazeera
service," commented John Hughes, Head of Commercial Systems at Jazeera AirwaysJazeera Airways
.
With the move to New Skies, Jazeera AirwaysJazeera Airways
sought a flexible solution to support its goals to better serve its customers, further differentiate itself from competitors, and easily link with ancillary revenue and industry partners," said John Dabkowski, Navitaire managing director. "The New Skies platform will help JazeeraJazeera
attract loyal customers as it expands guest services which enhance the JazeeraJazeera
brand." Jazeera AirwaysJazeera Airways
