Arab Banking Corporation appoints a Deputy Chief Executive

To strengthen senior management team

), the international Arab bank based in Bahrain is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Khaled S. Kawan as the Deputy Chief Executive of the Group. In his new position, the Wholesale Banking, Universal Banking and Group Operations of ABCABC
will report to Dr. Kawan. ABCABC
is hopeful that this refocusing of its business segments and operational platform around its customers will optimise its services towards a more profitable and cost effective delivery.Dr. Kawan, a Libyan national, is a lawyer by profession with a Ph.D. in Banking Laws from the University of Paris (Sorbonne), France. He has been with the ABC GroupABC Group
for 19 years. During this period, Dr. Kawan played a pivotal role in consolidating the corporate governance framework for ABCABC
, acting as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the ABC GroupABC Group
. Dr. Kawan is also familiar with ABCABC
's subsidiaries where he has held significant offices on a number of their Boards in Europe and the Arab World. He is well known throughout the ABC GroupABC Group
and highly respected for his professional judgement and business acumen.Speaking on the appointment, Mr. Hassan Juma, President & Chief Executive of ABCABC
