Egypt: Ministry of Health reports 33rd swine flu death

CAIRO: A 54-year-old woman from Alexandria died of swine flu, bringing the total number of H1N1 deaths in Egypt to 33, Abdel Rahman Shahin, official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, said.
The woman was suffering from chronic illnesses including diabetes, high blood pressure and a respiratory allergy.
Minister of Health Hatem El-Gabali said that the number of pregnant women infected with H1N1 virus in Egypt reached 57, 14 percent of whom have passed away, according to the ministry's statement.
According to the latest swine flu weekly update, the number of infected cases in Egypt reached 3,855 as of Dec. 6.
These include 1,410 cases in schools and 215 cases in universities around the country. The number of recovered patients reached 3,661, which is 94.4 percent of the total infected cases, according to the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).
