Entries now open for the 2009 Arabian Sponsorship Awards

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 18th November, 2009:  Organizers of the Arabian Sponsorship Forum have today announced the official opening for entries to the 2009 Arabian Sponsorship Awards.

The awards are the first of their kind to take place in the region and an opportunity to recognize exceptional sponsorship activations which have taken place throughout the Arabian Gulf over the past eighteen months.  Entries will be considered in the following categories:

Business to Business - for sponsorship projects directed at a sponsor's business partners, clients and distributors

Business to Community - for sponsorship projects focused on corporate social responsibility, educational or environmental objectives

Business to Consumer - for sponsorship projects intended to reach existing and potential consumers

Sponsorship Under $250k - for sponsorship projects with a total spend of under US $250,000

International Sponsorship - for sponsorship projects based in the Middle East which reach a minimum of three different countries in the region and have a global media footprint.

Honourary Awards will also be given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the sponsorship industry through sports, culture, entertainment, media and/or corporate social responsibility.

The 2009 Awards will be judged by a panel of international experts including Keynote speakers from the Arabian Sponsorship Forum and a selected group of individuals representing the European Sponsorship Association, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Business and Marketing Professors from leading Universities in the UAE.

Entries for the awards are 1000 AED in 2009 and may be made by sponsors, right holders or agencies.  Further information on how to enter can be found at www.arabiansponsorship.com.  The closing date for entries is December 7th  2009.

Forum organizer Jamie Cunningham of Professional Sports Group believes the Awards are important to provide recognition for the companies in the region who use Sponsorship as a key business tool. "This is long overdue given the similar regional awards in advertising, marketing and PR. However, they are equally important to provide universities in the Region with content for business and marketing courses who can provide the future talent for the Arabian Gulf's sponsorship industry."

The 2009  Arabian Sponsorship Forum is a two-day conference created to stimulate corporate interest in sponsorship in the region and undergraduate/graduate development.  All the award entries will be available to leading universities in the UAE and across the Arabian Gulf for marketing and business degree work.

Tickets for the event are on sale now from www.arabiansponsorship.com. The official delegate rate is 3,900 AED for 2 days. Delegates from companies based in the  Arabian Gulf  receive a discounted rate of 3,000 AED on the entry fee. Selected students and professors from leading universities in the UAE will be invited to attend free of charge.
