Oman Air buys 5 Embraer 175 E - Jets |

Airline becomes the newest E-Jet operator in the Gulf Region 17th November 2009. Dubai, Oman AirOman Air
signed a contract with Embraer today, for the purchase of five EMBRAER 175 aircraft from the E-Jets family at the Dubai Airshow.The signing ceremony was held under the aegis of His Excellency Ahmed bin Abdul Nabi Macki, Minister of National Economy, Deputy Chairman of Financial Affairs & Energy Resources Council and Chairman of Oman AirOman Air
and present on the occasion were Oman AirOman Air
's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Peter Hill and Mr. Frederico Fleury Curado, President and CEO, Airline Market, Embraer.Four of the jets will be operated by Oman AirOman Air
and one will serve with the Royal Omani Police. The newly ratified deal also includes purchase rights for another five aircraft. The first delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.Speaking about the landmark deal, His Excellency Ahmed Abdul Nabhi Macki, Minister of National Economy and Deputy Chairman of Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council and Chairman of Oman AirOman Air

We are convinced that the E-Jets will be the ideal platform for increasing frequencies and developing new routes, as well as catering to our expanding domestic market."

's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330s. At the end of 2009 the fleet strength will be 15 B737-800s, two A330-200s and two A330-300s. During 2010 / 2011, 3 additional A330-300 will be delivered. For the future Oman AirOman Air
has ordered six Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which are scheduled for delivery in 2014. About Embraer
Since the entry in service in 2004, Embraer has delivered over 600 E-Jets to 55 customers in 38 countries. In the Middle East, Embraer is the leader of fleet solutions up to 120 seats, with around 40 aircraft of the four models of the family - the EMBRAER 170, EMBRAER 175, EMBRAER 190, and EMBRAER 195 - in operation.
