RoyalCine and Sony Professional celebrate a first for Digital Cinema in the Middle East

RoyalCine makes the switch to digital by choosing Sony Digital

Cinema State of the Art projectors in Abu Dhabi's Delma Mall and becomes the first in the region to adopt Sony's 4K technology.


DUBAI, UAE: 7 November 2009 - Sony Professional and RoyalCine, a company under Royal GroupRoyal GroupLoading... and the leading providers of cinemas in Abu Dhabi, today announced an agreement for the deployment of four CineAlta 4K digital cinema projectors in collaboration with Pal Group, a technology consultant which is also part of Royal GroupRoyal GroupLoading....

The technology, capable of delivering content digitally, will allow RoyalCine

to showcase Hollywood's latest blockbusters, leading the way into the 21st century cinema experience and the Middle East's transition to digital movie viewing. As the first of its kind to debut in the Middle East, the 4K technology will provide a high level of picture quality and an immersive visual experience for movie enthusiasts.

The four RoyalCine installations will be completed by early 2010. Delma Mall has a total of 14 cinemas, of which four will be for Digital Cinema, and the balance will have traditional cinema screenings.
