Next Generation Perimeter Security Technology On Show At Energy Infrastructure Security Summit
- Text size
Abu Dhabi, UAE - (PRN): Hundreds of installations around the world, in some of the most hostile environments on the planet, are protected by a unique fibre optic perimeter intrusion detection system. From Future Fibre Technologies, this next generation technology stands alone for optimum, fail safe security protection.
Designers and manufacturers of world leading fibre optic sensing technologies, Future Fibre Technologies (FFT) will be exhibiting its latest products, at the 4th Annual Security for Energy Infrastructure Summit to be held in Abu Dhabi from October 18 to 21.
The company will be showcasing its unique products, including the recently launched Secure Zone™, which is a mid range derivative of FFT's proven flagship product, Secure Fence™ and is designed to fill a need in the market for a highly reliable yet cost-effective zone based intrusion detection solution.
This new product is equipped with FFT's patented ARaD technology to overcome the traditional problems of nuisance alarms that are so common with current solutions. The technology uses signature recognition and advanced learning algorithms to "know" the difference between an environmental nuisance alarm and an attempted intrusion.
Alec Owen, International Client Manager at FFT, says the company has developed Secure Zone at customers' requests.
"Secure Zone has been developed to offer customers the best possible protection at the lowest possible cost of ownership," Mr Owen says. "By configuring the system so there are 16 independent hardware zones, each up to 500 metres in a single unit and by making installation considerably easier, we can deliver superior value-for-money."
Mr Owen says his company expects strong demand from those responsible for protecting energy infrastructure facilities such as oil refineries, petrochemical plants and power plants.

About FFT
Since its establishment in 1994, FFT has successfully positioned itself to be the technology of choice for large perimeter applications, pipeline monitoring and communications/data network security, with hundreds of systems being deployed globally, in a range of applications including the oil and gas industry.
This strong growth led FFT to open a new office in Dubai to service and support the company's growing activity across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions.
The Middle East's high proportion of critical infrastructure, its political instability and increasing global energy prices combine to present special challenges to the suppliers and operators responsible for protecting the critical oil and gas infrastructures in the region.
The opening of the new office signals FFT's commitment to increasing awareness and knowledge of fibre optic based security solutions in the region.
In recent years, the company has been active in many projects in the region including the highly successful deployment of perimeter intrusion detection systems for several seaports and for a large number of LNG and petrochemical plants.
Adam Wilding-Webb, FFT's MENA Regional Manager, manages FFT's new office, which houses a full demo suite for Technical Training & Product Demonstrations along with local sales and technical support staff.
Mr. Wilding-Webb, who has worked with security products and systems for many years in Dubai, is familiar with the special challenges facing those responsible for security in the region and his expertise in the two key areas - the plant and equipment (oil refineries, LNG plants, etc.), and the products' transportation (pipelines) - will assist the company's new and existing customers in identify the best solution available.
See for yourself why FFT is the ultimate force in fibre optic intrusion detection and location systems. Visit the team at the Summit or visit http://www.fftsecurity.com.
