License granted to expand hotel in Basra |

BASRA: The Basra Investment Commission on Wednesday granted a license to expand a hotel in the city with a total cost of $15 million, said the commission's head.
Dr. Hayder Ali Fadhil, said that the Commission is examining an offer proposed by an Iraqi firm to invest $800 million in constructing a residential compound in the province.
"Expanding the hotel will take five years," Fadhil told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
He said the project will provide 160 job opportunities.
The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad.
