Foundations have been laid on Dubai's largest center for children with autism disorders. The company Canadian Gulf Construction Co., (CGC), a Dubai-based construction company, has been awarded the contract for the erection of the new Dubai Autism Center building. The high-profile center is the latest project of the Dubai Autism Center (DAC), which operates under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of DAC.
CGC has over 15 years of experience and dedication in civil engineering in the Emirates, with a vast portfolio ranging from the erection of warehouses to the delivery of turn-key high-end single and multi-unit residential buildings all over Dubai. Mr. Maher Ghattas, Managing Director and Partner of CGC: "We just finalized the raft concreting, which represents the main foundation stage: the pouring of over 6000 m3 of concrete in 40 hours of continuous work. We are proud to have achieved this great milestone in cooperation with our partners, especially in these difficult times". Located on an 8000 m2 area in Garhoud, the new centre will be the largest facility serving children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Canadian Gulf Construction will perform and manage the overall construction of the building through its mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural engineering departments. The completion of the building is expected in 2010.
