MUSCAT -- At a grand launch and signing ceremony at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel, Mazoon Press and Publishing announced the arrival of their first publication, Hala Oman, A Unique Visitors Guide.

The event was conducted under the auspices of Mohammed bin Hamoud Altobi, undersecretary of Ministry of TourismMinistry of TourismLoading... who, together with Jamil bin Ali Sultan, director in charge at Mazoon, signed several exclusive copies of Hala Oman.

Hala Oman is a handy pocket sized tourist guide that will be published on a quarterly basis.

As well as being a comprehensive guide to Oman, this summer edition concentrates on the Salalah Festival and guides tourists and citizens alike through the Dhofar region, where to stay, what to do, local attractions and historical sites and advises on all details about the festival.

Jamil Ali Sultan expressed the importance of the guide. 'The aim of this guide is to provide tourism information in the Sultanate through a small pocket sized guide. It will give tourists and residents access to all the special places in the Sultanate and the information is free of charge'.

Hala Oman contains all the information sought by tourists, foreign investors, residents and citizens of Oman. It includes the important tourist sites, hotels and restaurants as well as a comprehensive telephone directory including clinics, government bodies, hospitals and emergency services.

Graeme Selby, general manager at Mazoon added: 'We have tried to capture the essence of Oman and all it has to offer in this guide and it should be a constant reference point for the reader and we hope to see many people using the guide. We at Mazoon are very proud of this publication and are already working on the next issue'.

The event was well attended by specially invited guests including several sponsors and clients of Mazoon Press and Publishing.

The ceremony was followed by dinner and a video screening of the pages of Hala Oman.

Hala Oman will be distributed throughout the Sultanate and is free of charge.
