SCH warns against hiring fake doctors
- Text size
Doha: The Supreme Council for Health has responded to Al Sharq's article last week concerning the fraudulent doctor treating patients here in Doha.
The SCH has stated that the expatriate doctor has had his license revoked, and has been banned from practicing medicine in the country since a year ago.
The fake doctor, who has been treating patients and performing surgeries in private clinics, has been the hot topic of local TV shows and radio stations, over the past week. In response to the story, the SCH has released the following statement:
The SCH has always pursued providing Qatar with the highest level of health services and practitioners by using the most advanced measures of inspection of certificates and documents of those who pursue getting a practicing license.
The SCH has announced that it has signed a deal with a company specialized in investigating the authentication of certificates and diplomas of applicants.
Applicants have to apply online through the SCH website and then the hired company does the follow-up research of authentications
The SCH has revoked the practitioner's license in Qatar from a year ago, and has strictly banned him from practicing any health related work. The fake doctor has been black listed from practicing in Qatar, and his name has been notified to all concerned entities in the GCC.
The legal committee at SCH has been constantly following the procedures taken by the security authorities concerning the practitioner, and there is a registered case against him at the court.
The SCH warns all health related establishments from hiring any medical practitioner without the required licence. Any violations of this law will result in legal action to be taken against the violators, for endangering the lives of the public.
The licensing department at the SCH has opened a supervision and complaints section, which is opened to receive any complaints about malpractice or violations, and will be following up all reports taken in.
