Car Production Up

Iran KhodroIran Khodro
and SaipaSaipa, affiliated to the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), have manufactured over 278,000 cars in the past three months. The figure shows an 11-percent growth over the same period last year, reported ISNA.
SaipaSaipa
produced 148,334 cars while Iran KhodroIran Khodro was behind with 130,300 cars, indicating a 7-percent and 16-percent rise respectively.Meanwhile, a production line for Saipa-141 began production in Syria under the name Amissa, the old name of the Syrian city of Hamas.
Iranian and Syrian officials were present in a ceremony on Thursday to kick off the assembly line at the plant called C.V.Co, 150 km north of the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The factory was built in an industrial township in Hamas. According to a report by IRIB, 15 percent of the plant's stock belong to the Syrian side and the rest to SaipaSaipa
. Saipa-141 has been described as a popular car because of its low fuel consumption, good customer service and cheap auto parts. Saipa 141 is made under the platform of Kia Pride Car.
IDRO was established in 1967 to develop the industrial sector and accelerate the industrialization process.
